Sherburne Lodge No. 95 welcomes visiting Brothers at almost all events but requests prior notification and proper verification, we recommend reaching out at least one week before your visit to ensure a smooth experience.

Masonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. Our current history can be traced back to at least 1390 when our forefathers are spoken of in the Regius Manuscript, though some believe we go back thousands of years. Today however there are more than two million Freemasons in North America alone and over 5 million worldwide.  In masonry virtually every occupation and profession are represented, every race color and creed are members. Masons come from diverse political and religious backgrounds but still "meet on the level."  The only caveat that we require for you to join us is that you must believe in a Higher Power, though it matters not what spiritual form that takes. How you view "God" or the Supreme Architect as we general refer to him is entirely up to you as an individual.

At least Fourteen signers of the Constitution and fourteen Presidents of the United States, including from George Washington all the way to Gerald Ford, were Masons.  Other famous masons were the Mayo brothers (Mayo Clinic in Minnesota), "The Duke" John Wayne, Davy Crockett, Ty Cobb, and Henry Ford to name just a few. The roots of Freemasonry in the United States runs so deep and is so intertwined with the beginning of country as a Nation that it is hard to imagine where we would be if not for Freemasonry and the Democracy they introduced to the new world.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Freemasonry is how so many men, from so many different walks of life, can meet together in peace, always conducting their affairs in harmony and friendship and calling each other "Brother." Free Masons in the Middle East, from all religious backgrounds, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu's and Christians gather in Masonic Halls and meet as Brothers to do the good works we strive throughout the world to do. There are so many things that separate us, but Freemasonry brings us together as one and there is nothing we can't accomplish when we work as one.

Freemasonry is not so much a "Secret Society" as it is a society with a few secrets. In this day of the Internet, Social Media and all the other technologies, it would be near impossible to have any real secrets in the world. The few things we ask our members to truly keep secret relate more to who you are as a person. If you can't be trusted to keep a few words?, a handshake?, a sign? How can you be expected to keep something truly important or follow through with your commitments and obligations. The tenants of our society are Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, and we strive to love our Brothers, Give Relief to those in need and above all be truthful in all things we do.

Again, the only prerequisites to join are you must be a Man, at least 18 years old and have a belief in a Higher Power.
